I've been asked over and over and over again about how to make ur own site. then when i started to explain, ppl usually got confused. they only got confused because explaining how to make ur own web site isn't easy! i'll try to do it in as much detail as possible and that should make it at least a little easier.

Step 1

first you should decide wat your website is gonna be about. if you want an original site, try doing sum web searches on possible topics. and don't worry, u can change ur whole web site in time, but picking a topic first, will help u to pick the right service provider.

Step 2

this is the step where u pick ur service provider. if ur starting out, u'll probably want to get a free provider first. i mean web sites might not be ur thing anyway. here are sum things to look for when picking your host or provider.

MB- megabytes r how much space u'll get. my whole site is currently just over one mb. that's a lot of space! but as i said, if ur starting out, then pretty much anything will do. just make sure that it's at least 1mg.
KB- these are kilobytes. a 1000 of these go into one MB. watch that the space ur getting isn't in KB but in MB.
Bandwidth- this is a really tricky thing that I dun really understand yet. Stormpages gives unlimited bandwidth which is awesome if ur gonna get a lot of visitors. However, most hosts and providers have a bandwidth limit. Then u'll usually have to pay for anything extra. This means that after a certain amount of ppl have visited ur site, it'll either be shut down for sum time, or u'll have to pay more for visitors that exceed ur bandwidth amount.
PageBuilder- a lot of hosts have sum kind of page builder. this will generally make building ur site a lot easier. These are a nessesity if u don't want to learn any HTML and still have an awesome lookin page. *don't ask me to help figure out ur pagebuilder, cus 1. i dun have time for it and 2. u'll have to gemme ur password for me to really figure it out*

Step 3

okay time for ur first page ever! there's only one rule for this. since ur first page will probably be the main page. u have to title index! if ur using a page builder, it's just index. if html, index.html . u'll probably wanna have a menu(with all the links) and sum pics to make thing look nice. but watever u do, name ur first page index. this is because when somebody types in an url(such as www.stormpages.com/girldreamz) the computer is going to search ur files for something called index. without index, it's likely that ur page will not be found.

Step 4

after u've got the index set up, ur ready to make more pages. ur u dunno how to use ur page builder, try opening a new page, and playing around with stuff. u dun even have to save this page cus it's purpose is to understand the pagebuilder. not to make a page. o and also, remember to create a link to the new pages from the index page. it's the only way visitors can get around your site.
